After Gary Ridgways arrest, he began confessing to the police and detectives about why he murdered all the women he did. Ridgway claims that the women he murdered were "garbage", which shows that he was unable to think of them as living human beings, and he lacked an important part of his thought process: caring. The lack of caring that Ridgway claims to have had, is very common amongst serial killers like him. These killers show no signs of regret or remorse for the people that they killed, and the majority of psychopathic murderers wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over taking someones life.
Ridgway claims that he had murderous and sexual fantasies about his mother, which is another common trait that is share among many psychopaths. He also picked up a prostitute with his young child in the back seat, which once again proves that his sexuality was complicated and obscene.
When asked by a forensic psychologist if Ridgway ever worried about having mental problems, he answered "never really thought about it...". This shows that Ridgway also had a lack of introspection which is characteristic shared with most psychopaths.
In my opinion, I think that psychopaths are not as conscious as most normal people are. Their brains lack too many important factors to be considered a normal, conscious being. Gary Ridgway is a perfect example of a psychopathic murderer who's lack of empathy for the world around him ended up leading to him becoming one of the most notorious serial killers of all time.
